Tremblett's Lose Battle With Simcoe
The games have been few and far between for the Tremblett's Your Independent Grocer Atom AE team lately. Their Southern Counties playoffs resumed last week with a showdown with the rival Simcoe Warriors.
The Tremblett's team looked a little rusty early on but found their stride as the game wore on. The boys battled hard through a scoreless first period and took the lead late in the second as Jax Nguyen knocked in a rebound off a hard Emmitt Robinson shot from the right wing. Cameron White also assisted on the goal. The grocery boys continued to battle hard trying to bag the win, maintaining their lead until midway through the third period when Simcoe scored on a shot from the blue line which avoided screened goaltender Ewan Spence to tie the game. The game continued back and forth with both teams unable to score until Simcoe took the lead with just over two minutes remaining, popping in a rebound after Spence had made two great saves. The Tremblett's boys mounted a furious effort late in the game but could not even the score. The boys fell 2-1 but played well after a two week layoff with call up goaltender Spence filling in for vacationing Seth Clark leading the way. The boys are back in action with two games next week to complete their Southern Counties playoffs.
