Brokerlink Boys Crush Lambeth 8-3 in Game Two of OMHA Semi-Finals
Your hometown Ingersoll Brokerlink Express team crushed the Lambeth Lancers in game two of the OMHA semi-finals in Ingersoll Feb. 23rd. The Ingersoll squad now have a commanding four point lead and can wrap up the series tonight, Tuesday Feb. 24th in Lambeth. A victory tonight will secure a spot in the OMHA finals against the winner of the Kincardine/Parry Sound series. A four goal effort by Gavin Bryant and a pair by Alex Schuett were more than enough for Ingersoll on this night. Jeremy Hardeman played two plus periods in goal for Ingersoll and made a number of great saves for his team. Carter Spence replaced Hardeman with seven minutes remaining in the game.

Ingersoll took control of the game from the opening faceoff and had some great chances on the first shift. Nine minutes into the game, Schuett collected the puck at his own blue line and blew by the Lambeth team before firing the puck into the net for a 1-0 Ingersoll lead that would not be relinquished. Kaleb Kloepfer and Tye House assisted on the goal. Three minutes later, Bryant skated into the Lambeth zone and fired a shot that was misplayed by the Lambeth tender to give Ingersoll a 2-0 lead. In the last minute of the opening period, Adam VanDyk cleared the puck off the Ingersoll goal line preventing a Lambeth goal. Ingersoll would take a    2-0 lead into the second period.

Three and a half minutes into the second period, Schuett slid a backhand pass to the Lambeth crease that was directed into the net by Bryant for a 3-0 Ingersoll lead. With just over four minutes to play in the second, Owen Longlade was hauled down on a breakaway. Ingersoll kept possession of the puck with the officials arm in the air indicating a delayed penalty. Seconds later, Schuett banged the puck into the Lambeth net to increase the Ingersoll lead to four. Brody Nurse and Longlade received assists on the goal. Lambeth pressed on trying to solve the Ingersoll tender. Hardeman made a great save with two minutes remaining in the second as he flashed the catcher to snag a puck that was shot to the top corner. Lambeth broke the shutout a minute later off a deflection in front of Hardeman.

One minute into the third, Bryant skated out from the Lambeth corner and fired a backhander to the top corner. Cohen Belore assisted on the goal and battled two Lambeth defenders before Bryant arrived on the scene. Ingersoll skated relentlessly on the fore-check and on the back check throughout the game. Belore again worked the puck down low in the Lambeth zone before the puck squirted to Evan Hopson who would fire a shot over the shoulder of the Lambeth goalie. Now 6-1 Ingersoll, Bryant ripped a shot that was too hot to handle by the Lambeth goalie. Tye House pounced on the rebound and ripped it into the net. To his credit, the Lambeth goalie did make a number of great saves in this game; Ingersoll just outgunned the team from Lambeth. With seven minutes left in the game, Ingersoll could not contain or clear the puck from their crease before the Lancers had their second of the night. Carter Spence relieved Hardeman before the next drop of the puck. One minute after coming off the bench, Spence faced a breakaway that Lambeth would score on. The toughest job in hockey is that of a goaltender coming off the bench cold. The next shift Spence made a great glove save. With three to play, House fired a rocket that could not be handled. Bryant swooped in and slapped the rebound into the Lambeth goal. Spence made a few more excellent saves before the final buzzer for his team. Final score; Ingersoll 8, Lambeth 3.

This was another great team effort by your Brokerlink Boys. Not every player made the game sheet, but every player should be proud of their efforts on this night. Game three goes tonight Feb. 24th in Lambeth. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:40 pm.
