Ingersoll Brokerlink Express Atom Rep Team One Game Away from Championship
Your Ingersoll Brokerlink Express Atom Rep team are one game away from winning the OMHA Atom B Championship. Kincardine has not offered much of a challenge to the Ingersoll offensive machine as the Brokerlink Boys have filled the Kinuck goal eighteen times through the first two games. A 9-2 drubbing by Ingersoll last Saturday was followed by a 9-1 thrashing in Kincardine the following day in game two. The team and family travelled to Kincardine in a luxury coach for game two. AP player Jack Wolfe was inserted into the lineup for this game.

Ingersoll Brokerlink Express Rep Team travel to Kincardine in style for Game 2 of the OMHA Finals

ROAD TRIP

After a brief opening ceremony, the Brokerlink Boys went to work. Seth Hedges opened the scoring for Ingersoll with a blast from the point early in the first. Assists were credited to Tye House and Gavin Bryant. Ingersoll controlled the play in the opening minutes with excellent team passing. Kincardine fired their first shot on Spence six minutes into the contest, however; Spence a.k.a. “Bones” came up large in saving a Kincardine breakaway the next shift. Hedges was able to fire away from the point as the Kinucks continued to leave him open at the blue line.

Hedges a.k.a. “Fingers” would score his second with four minutes left in the period to give Ingersoll a 2-0 lead. The potent Ingersoll power play went to work again with three to play. Owen Longlade made a great effort to score with the man advantage, but the Kincardine goaltender made a great save. With forty seconds left on the clock, a jam play in front of the Kinuck net resulted in House scoring his first of three on the day. Longlade and Bryant received assists on the goal. Ingersoll outshot Kincardine 11-3 in the first period and would take a 3-0 lead into the second.

Twenty seconds into the middle period, Kincardine broke-up a play at their blue line and raced down the ice to score on Spence. Twelve seconds from the ensuing faceoff, Owen Longlade scored a gritty goal to give the Brokerlink Boys a 4-1 lead. Tye House and Jack Wolfe assisted on the goal. Ingersoll continued to attack the Kinuck zone with guts and determination. The work ethic and precision passing by the Ingersoll boys was unlimited. Hedges sent another rocket from the point with just over ten to go in the second. Evan “another Blackhawk fan” Hopson banged in the rebound to increase the lead to 5-1. Kaleb Kloepfer also assisted on the goal.  One minute later, House ripped a wrist shot to the top corner assisted by Longlade and Wolfe. Jeremy Hardeman entered the game in relief of Spence and with his team leading 6-1. Two minutes later, Longlade set-up Hedges for another howitzer from the point that was sent to the Kinuck goal. The puck was tipped in front by Wolfe for a 7-1 Ingersoll lead. Cohen Belore made a great effort shorthanded and fired a shot off the crossbar as the period was ending. The scoreboard read Ingersoll 7, Kincardine 1 to end the second period. Ingersoll also led in shots with an 18-10 advantage.

Three and a half minutes into the third period, Cohen Alexander stole the puck in the neutral zone and skated in alone to score an amazing goal for Ingersoll. With the score now 8-1, Kincardine began a parade to the penalty box in frustration. Ingersoll used the power play to pass the puck around and run down the clock. Hardeman made a great glove save with three left in the game, and another with just under two minutes to go. House completed the hat trick just before the last minute of the game was announced finalizing the 9-1 Ingersoll victory. Outstanding offensive and defensive contributions were made by forwards Alex Schuett and Brody Nurse. Benham Martin, Braden Wright and Adam VanDyk were all stellar on defence for your Ingersoll Brokerlink Express team.
