Back home the day after the big Delhi Championship to welcome Waterford. The crowd was a little more subdued this Monday evening but our Express was rolling right along.

The first period started out eeriely quiet from the stands as most parents had horse voices from cheering all weekend long.
That did not effect our Little Express train on the ice though. Starting at 7:48 in the first #14 Dylan Lale opened the scoring assisted by #16 Sam House. The Next goal came at 3:50 left in the first by #10 Jonah Martire assisted by #15 Logan Pare who has really found his stride over the last weekend and is only a matter of time before his shot finds the back of the net. Then with only two minutes remaining in the period #14 Dylan Lale stuck again this time assisted by #4 Urijah Jewkes.
The second period began and much of the period saw our Express spraying the Waterford net minder with shoots but he stood strong. At about the half way point #19 Brandon Plaquet was not having it anymore and blasted one past the Waterford goaltender. That seemed to shake the Waterford players a bit and opened the flood gates for scoring in the second with three more coming in just under a minute.#10 Jonah Martire scored assisted by #11 Westin Matsumoto and #16 Sam House, the next one was only 20 seconds away this time #11 Westin Matsumoto was the one scoring assisted by #10 Jonah Martire and #7 Charlie Ashman. Not to be out done young Mr.Lale completes his hat trick 13 seconds later assisted by #6 Wyatt Thompson and #3 Brody Wright.
The third period saw some excellent passing in the Waterford end but their net minder once again had found his legs and was fending off almost everything we could through at them. 9:04 in the third #3 Brody Wright found his way to the score sheet assisted by #11 Westin Matsumoto. Three minutes later we saw another squeeze in this time by #12 Jorja Kloepfer assisted by #19 Brandon Plaquet and #9 Ryan Wolfe. Two minutes later #11 Westin Matsumoto once again found his way to the net assisted by #10 Jonah Martire, these two have become excellent line mates over the past weekend and are working extremely well together and now that hard work is paying off on the score sheet.
With our Express on cruise control and with the clock winding down Waterford was set on breaking the shutout and with a last rush they squeaked one in.
What a excellent game back after the big high of winning the tournament our Express showed true sportsmanship and kept the train running down the winning tracks.

“True sportsmanship is…

Knowing that you need your opponent because without him or her, there is no game.

Acknowledging that your opponent holds the same deep-rooted aspirations and expectations as you.

Knowing that, win or lose, you will walk off the course with pride.

Always taking the high road.

And always, always, always being a good sport.”
