Round two Delhi Hockey Mom's tournament
Round two had Butterworth's Service Centre collide with Elmvale 2 in the second game of the Delhi Hockey Mom's tournament.

"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success." --Henry Ford

Today we found the team we have been working for all year. Our Express played hard and worked toward a common goal of defeating Elmvale.
"The Eagle" has landed and he brought his convocation with him. Christopher "The Eagle" Hardeman bounced back with a outstanding perfornance shutting down Elmvale and not giving them a chance to get a number on the score board.
Scoring opened in the first period from #11 Westin Matsumoto assisted by #14 Dylan Lale. The period ended at 1-0.
The second had lots of stick battles and scrums along the boards. #11 Westin Matsumoto struck again getting another past the Elmvale net minder with a determination we have not seen from young Mr. Matsumoto this season. With just 30 seconds left in the period we were able to put another in the net by #6 Wyatt Thompson for his second buzzer beater of the tournament.
The third started the same as the first two period with battles along the boards and our players digging in the corners. This hard work provided many scoring chances only to be
stifled by the Elmvale goaltender. But at 6:49 of the period #11 Westin Matsumoto through a pass to #13 Jorja Kloepher for the Captains first goal of the game. Not finished with his work on the score sheet Mr. Matsumoto throwing a little too much caution to the wind earned himself a two minute stint in the box. The team continued to work hard and still did not allow a descent scoring opportunity for Elmvale. Out of the box and back on the ice #11 Westin "The Workhorse" Matsumoto fought back from his penalty and was able to complete the hat trick for the game.
Well done Express don't let off the gas for the second game this afternoon at 6pm.
