Novice Local League Team Anderson Appliances 1; Belmont scores 4
Team Anderson Appliances faced Belmont in a friendly game of hockey during the Carmeuse invitational tournament, Sunday January 4th.
Both teams rallied hard during the first period. Belmont was the first on the scoreboard halfway through the first period. Ingersoll had many scoring opportunities in front of the Belmont net, but their goaltender protected his home very well. With only forty seconds left in the period, #9 C. Groves assisted #11 C. Brownscombe who scored on the goaltenders rebound.
Belmont and Ingersoll battled hard to break the tie. With three minutes left in the second period, Belmont took the lead 2-1.
Belmont took their lead further with another two goals in the third period. Final score of the game was 4-1 in favour of Belmont. The MVP of the game was the Belmont goaltender and #11 C. Brownscombe for Ingersoll.
