4-1 Home Rink Win for Novice Local League Anderson Appliances
On Tuesday October 28th, Anderson Appliances faced off against the Waterford Wildcats.
Anderson Appliances skated strong into the Wildcats zone throughout the first period. The Wildcats defence and goalie held off Ingersoll from scoring. With the parents and fans sitting on pins and needles, the first period ended scoreless.
Both Ingersoll and Waterford worked hard at getting a number up on the time clock. With four minutes left in the period, #11 C. Brownscombe scored unassisted to give Anderson's the lead. The score was 1-0 at the end of the second period.
The Wildcats stepped up their game in the third period. They popped in a goal 2 minutes into the period to tie the score up. Team Anderson went on a scoring streak halfway through the third period. #8 A. Stratton passed the puck over to #10 C. Skevington to score.
Ten seconds later, #7 M. Vervaecke pushed one past the Wildcats goaltender. In the last two minutes of play, #7 M. Vervaecke passed to #10 C. Skevington who scored the final goal of the game. Final score 4-1 for Team Anderson Appliances!
