Tyke Selects Hit the Road for Two

The Butterworth's Service Centre Ingersoll Tyke Selects Express team hit the road this past weekend for two tough road games.  First stop was the Wayne Gretzky Centre where they faced the Brantford 99ers.  The 99ers opened the scoring early as they broke the Express defense down with their speed and snapped a shot past goaltender Riley Vyse.  The Express managed to tie the game up three minutes later when centre Sam House dumped the puck in while left winger Jonah Martire picked the puck off the sidewall and fired a shot off from a tough angle that handcuffed the 99ers goalie and managed to squeak over the goal line.  Early in the second another defensive breakdown allowed the 99ers to bang in another goal to take a 2-1 lead.  The remainder of the second and third frame the Express managed to turn on the jets and providing an agressive forecheck that saw them control the game but unfortunately the shooting accuracy was off and a lot of hardwork was lost due to lack of shots on net.
Hardest Working / Best Teammate Firefighter hat went out to right winger Dylan Lale.  Great job Dylan!

Sunday morning the Express team travelled to the Timken Centre to seek revenge against the St. Thomas Junior Stars.  The Stars were in Ingersoll a month earlier and came into town to steal a 3-1 victory.  A fast paced game with a great defensive effort from both teams finished with a 0-0 tie.  Hardest Working / Best Teammate Firefighter hat went out to goalie tandem Riley Vyse & Christopher Hardeman.  Great job boys!

Next game is Friday January 2nd - 6:00pm vs. Strathroy & Saturday January 3rd - 2:20pm vs. Kitchener Rangers.  Both games are at the Madhouse on Mutual.
