Win, lose and draw
The R. McNiven and Sons Insurance Brokers Ingersoll Express Atom Rep team closed out the remainder of the Huntsville K of C tournament with win, a loss and a tie, after a win and loss in their first two games.  Game 3 of the round robin took place on Saturday afternoon, and the teams skated to a 1-1 draw.

Sunday morning, the team arrived at the arena not knowing what to expect.  The standings were crammed, with Ingersoll having 3 points and 1 game to play, Ennismore having 4 points and 1 game remaining against Ayr, who Ingersoll tied and who also had 3 points.  Ingersoll was scheduled to play against Paris, but their fate rested in the Ayr-Ennismore game.  With an Ennismore win, Ingersoll was out.  If Ayr won, Ingersoll would need to win their game against Paris by at 2 goals more than what Ayr won by.  If Ayr and Ennismore tied, Ayr was out, and Ingersoll needed to win by 3 or more goals.

The team arrived to watch the game between Ennismore and Ayr, and learn what their game against Paris was going to require.  The game proved to be very entertaining and exciting, with Ayr gaining a cheering section in the Ingersoll fan base as well.  After back and forth action, Ennismore scored in the second, but Ayr tied the game late in the third period, and the game ended that way, with a 1-1 tie.  That meant that for Ingersoll to advance to the final game against Huntsville, they needed to beat Paris by 3 or more goals.

The game against Paris provided little challenge for the Ingersoll team, and after 30 minutes Ingersoll won the game 7-1 and were slotted for a rematch against host Huntsville.  Huntsville took the early lead, but Ingersoll was able to even the score with goals by Parker Hodgson and Ethan Emerson, both on passes from Brennan Rupert.  Late in the third period Huntsville retook the lead, and Ingersoll just couldn't find the net after that.  It was a great, exciting game, but the boys appeared completely exhausted, this being their 7th game in 5 days.  Their just wasn't any reserve left in the tank, and the team fell to Huntsville 3-2.
