Express Burned by Flames
The Ingersoll Express Searles Motor Products Novice Rep team had their OMHA playoffs end Monday night against the Aylmer Flames. A series that had seen the first two games end in a one goal difference in favor for the Flames the final game was a tight one as well. Game 3 in Aylmer the Flames jumped all over the young Express team pressuring them in their own end and gaining momentum with each opportunity, finally they were able to get a lucky bounce past Ingersoll netminder Gabe Robinson. Midway through the second period Aylmer fired back to gain the two goal advantage and carry that momentum. The last seven minutes of the period the Express gained some confidence with some strong shifts that allowed them to get some scoring opportunities but were unable to slip any past the Aylmer goalie. Despite some Aylmer penalities and a two man advantage in the third period the Express were unable to get on the scoreboard and make a final push. With the 2-0 loss Aylmer advances onto the OMHA Finals, and the Express will continue to focus on their Southern Counties playoffs.
