Express Drop Paris in OT

The Ingersoll Express Searles Motor Products Novice Rep team concluded there OMHA Round Robin playdowns Thursday night in Ingersoll against Paris.  The Express opened the scoring when winger Ben White made a great pass to Gavin Bryant in the slot who one timed it past the Paris netminder to give the homeside a early 1-0 lead. Ingersoll scored another goal when captain Josh Clark (assisted by Alex Schuett & Emitt Robinson) banged in a rebound giving the homeside a 2-0 cushion.  For the next two periods Paris started pressing the young Express team and forcing them into some costly mistakes that resulted in three Paris goals giving the visitors a 3-2 lead late in the third period.  With two costly Paris penalities and goalie Gabe Robinson watching from the bench the Express went on the attack with a two man advantage with an extra attacker resulting in Gavin Bryant (assisted by Davin Gray & Alex Schuett) banging home a short rebound on the doorstep of the Paris crease to tie the game 3-3.
In overtime, the Paris defenseman failed to contain a pass back to the point and a timely Ingersoll change from the bench resulted Davin Gray breaking in alone to squeak the game winner across the goal line to give the Express the 4-3 overtime victory.  Now the Express will wait to see who they will play in their OMHA playdown best of five series.
The Express will open their Southern Counties playoffs this Saturday in Burford, puck drop is scheduled for 11:30am.
