Express Cruise to 8-0 Victory in OMHA Playoffs
Sunday afternoon the Searles Motor Products Novice Rep team travelled to Glanbrook for their second round OMHA matchup against the Glanbrook Rangers. It was captain Josh Clark (assisted by Alex Schuett) who got the road team on the scoreboard, followed by a quick goal by Ben White (assisted by Davin Gray). Before the end of the period defense man Wyatt Adkins tip toed around the Glanbrook defenders end to end but came up short on his scoring chance, but Clark (assisted by Adkins) was on the door step to bang home his second goal of the first period. The second periods it was only Davin Gray (assisted by Tye House) who managed to light the lamp and help carry the express to a 4-0 lead going into the third period. The third period the doors opened up for the young Express team as Gavin Bryant (assisted by Wyatt Adkins and Emmitt Robinson), Alex Schuett (assisted by Ben White), Davin Gray (assisted by Tye House) and Gray again (assisted by Max Brandenhorst) all found the back of the net in the third period to give the Express a convincing 8-0 victory. The Express defense was stellar for the third periods but it was the teams backbone in net Gabe Robinson who picked up the shutout. The Express hit the road this week for two games as they travel to Paris (6:00pm) on Thursday night, Aylmer on Friday night (6:15pm) before returning home for Sundays matchup vs Port Colbourne in Ingersoll for a 10:45am puck drop.
