PeeWees Chalk Up First Victory of the Season!
Last Thursday, October 29, the Your Financial Partners Peewee Rep Ingersoll Express hosted the Six Nations Allstars.  Throughout the game Ingersoll controlled the play in their offensive zone by creating a persistent forecheck.  In their defensive zone Ingersoll minimized their opponents’ scoring chances utilizing strong positional and physical play by the defencemen, combined with the backchecking of the forwards.

The boys lit up the board midway through the first when Parker Moon sent it ahead to Daniel Lindsay who carried it through traffic into the zone setting up Colton Cameron who lifted one high stick-side to tie the game.  Thomas Larder maintained Ingersoll’s offensive tempo with a breakaway and Chris Dimmers continued the pace moving the puck aggressively up the wing.
Cole Mayo and Moon carried that momentum into the second with solid defense and physical play rounded out by Joel Couse who was strong on the body, particularly short-handed.  Adam Dzyngel put the Express out front near the halfway mark in the second, sending a rocket in off the crossbar from centreman Brandon DeBruyn at the faceoff.
Luke Zegers helped set the Express tone into the third with good offensive rushes and some great passing plays with Jeremy Racicot.  Dakota Lednicky, Lindsay, Dimmers and Cameron also kept up the pressure in several 4-on-4 and 5-on-3 situations.  Late in the third it was DeBruyn who put away the insurance goal tucking Zach Staddon’s rebound past the Six Nations’ netminder.
Lucas Malchesky turned in a strong performance in net, highlighted by some timely glove saves in the third to stave off the tying goal.
Their strong team effort resulted in Ingersoll chalking up their first victory of the season, 3-1.  The team has two games scheduled this week, Monday November 2nd in Waterford and Thursday November 5th in Paris.  Good luck Boys!!
