INGERSOLL EXPRESS ATOM REP VS. CALEDONIA THUNDER
The Ingersoll Express made
the long trip to play The Caledonia Thunder on Wednesday December,01.
The Express were ready to take on the Thunder and from the beginning of the first period, there is nothing but pressure applied by both teams. There is a close call for Ingersoll as the puck gets caught in Peter’s pads but there is no goal. Phew! The Express are making some great attempts on net but are getting denied by Caledonia’s goalie. Finally, Rydan gets a break away with Kaelan close by, Rydan takes the shot himself and scores the first goal!!! Ending the first period 1-0 for The Express.
This game couldn’t be more intense! During the second period there is a great passing play by Kohen from behind the net out front to Kaelan but the Thunders goalie shuts the door. There are not many opportunities for The Express to score but a great save by Peter maintains our lead. Caledonia capitalizes on a rebound off Peter and ties the game. Shortly after Caledonia busts though the defense and puts one top shelf. The period ends 2-1 for Caledonia.
The Express fight to get back in the lead. Rydan has a chance but hits the crossbar! There is great pressure being applied by Ingersoll and Adriaan scores on a sharp angle rebound shot that is assisted by Levon. The game is tied up. Ingersoll keeps the momentum up allowing Rydan to break through and hustle to the net, scoring again with a top shelf beauty assisted by Levon. It is now 3-2 for The Express. Caledonia scores with 1:45 minutes left of the third that ties it up and then takes the win with their final goal 1.3 seconds before the buzzer. One point three seconds!!!!!!!!! Sooooooooooo close!
It was an intense and exciting game, and our boys didn’t stop fighting. A shout out to Remy who filled in for the team.
The traditional stick tap sent The Thunder off the ice for a game well played and The Ingersoll Express made the long drive back home from Caledonia. Great job Express!
