The Ingersoll Express played The Delhi Rockets on their stomping ground last night. The Rockets gave Ingersoll a run for their money but could not skate away with a win.
In the first period the Rockets scored the first goal of the night which charged up The Express who worked hard to keep the puck out of their end. Their endurance pays off as Kaelan scores our first goal assisted by Adriaan and Levon. In the blink of an eye, Nolan scores the second goal assisted by Kohen 16 seconds later! Ingersoll is now one point ahead and both teams are fully charged for the rest of the game. Delhi is not letting up and launch their second goal but are defused quickly when Ronan and Levon assist in Kaelan's second goal of the night putting the Express ahead 3-2. The period ends with a scramble at our net as Delhi ties it up.
The second period was no different from the first as Ingersoll inched their way ahead of The Rockets thanks to Rydan scoring goal number four with an assist by Ronan. Our goalie Peter is primed and making great saves but with 3 minutes left, Delhi ties it up once again. With 48 seconds left in the second period, Rydan puts Ingersoll back in the lead assisted by Noah, ending the period 5 to 4.
The crowd was cheering, the coaches supporting the team! It was an explosive third period! Delhi ties it up which in return fires up the Express even more and Levon scores the final goal of the game assisted by Adriaan and Kaelan. It is still a fight to the finish and with one minute left, a time out is called, and The Rockets pull their goalie. This is their last chance. The Delhi Rockets cannot get through Peter and the boys this time. They launch the puck on The Express net, but it hits the post! Ingersoll takes home the win.
