INGERSOLL EXPRESS ATOM REP VS. NORWICH KNIGHTHAWKS
The arena was full of cheering fans for the season opener and the energy was high both on the ice and in the stands.
The Ingersoll Express played their second game against Norwich on home ice tonight, scoring 2 goals during the first period. Shortly after Kaelan shot in the first goal of the evening assisted by Kohen and Josh, Norwich put one in the net. Peter makes a beauty save denying the Knighthawks a goal halfway through the first period and Rydan ends the period off with our second goal of the night with an assist by Josh.
Second period the Knighthawks are trying to apply pressure, but our boys are handling it as a team. Even with a few penalties for the Express it didn't stop them from getting 2 shorthanded goals. Kaelan making to first goal, assisted by Noah. Moments later, Rydan takes a shot on net that is deflected by Norwich and Kohen takes the rebound and sinks one in with assistance by Chris and Rydan.
Starting the third period off with a 4 to 1 lead for the Express, Cameron scores the 5th goal 40 seconds in with Kaelan assisting. After a scramble near the Knighthawks net, Levon taps one in with Kohen assisting in that goal. Chris and Caleb scored goals seven and eight both assisted by Levon, and the final goal of the night was a breakaway goal by Rydan. Peter was making incredible saves all night and The Express managed to kill two penalties near the end of the third winning the game 9 to 1.
The entire team showed nothing but heart and determination on the ice tonight. Great job Ingersoll Express!
