Norwich Tournament Triple Overtime!!
Submitted By John Hutchison on Tuesday, November 6, 2018
Saturday November 3rd , The team travelled to Norwich for its first tournament of the season. First game was versus New Hamburg. New Hamburg got the first goal and by the end of the first led by 5. The Anderson Appliance team couldn't get traction in this game and despite some key saves by #1 Justin Clarke, New Hamburg won 10-0

Game 2 the Anderson Appliance team faced Tavistock. The first period saw Tavistock score the first goal and managed to sneak 2 more in before Ingersoll's #9 Kyle Verhoeven got the team on the board unassisted. This would be all offence the Ingersoll team could muster up as Tavistock won the game 6-1.

Game 3 the Anderson Appliance team faced host town Norwich. In what would be a spectators delight of a game, the first period saw Norwich get on the board first. Some key early saves by #1 Justin Clarke, kept Ingersoll in the game and heading to the second only down by 1. The second period saw alot of back and forth action until at 6:52 of the second Ingersoll's #9 Kyle Verhoeven tied the game unassisted. The second period ended with the teams tied 1-1. The third period was very tight with chances at both ends of the ice. With 3:28 remaining in the 3rd Norwich got their second of the game to make it 2-1. Like any good team Ingersoll didn't give up and with 1:38 left in the 3rd #9 Kyle Verhoeven buried his second unassisted goal of the game. The third ends with the teams tied 2-2. We're heading to overtime !! The first period of overtime was a 2 min 4v4 , both teams refused to lay down and despite chances at either end the 1st overtime ended. The second period of overtime was a 2min 3v3, much like the first overtime the period ended still tied. The third overtime was a 2min 2v2 it didn't even take a full minute before #9 Kyle Verhoeven completed the hat trick on a beauty pass from #16 Aaden Workman. Final score Ingersoll 3 Norwich 2.
