Titans Beat Juvenile Express in Overtime to Tie Series
The Tavistock Titans beat the the Ingersoll Carmeuse Lime Express Juvenile rep team 5-4 in overtime on Saturday night to tie the series at one game each.

The game would start of well for the Express as Caleb Schapp would feed Qwertay Dei who used his speed to drive to the net and send a backhand shot high past the Titans goalie just 34 seconds into the game.  Then 32 seconds later, Carter Franklin would find Derek Johnson in front of the Titans net who would score a power play goal to give the Express a quick 2-0 lead just 1:06 into the game.  Despite some good chances for each team, the first period ended without any further scoring.

Halfway through the second period, Tavistock would score a power play goal to make the score 2-1.  However late in the second period, Tyler Goyette would make a clearing pass from inside the Express blue line to Eric Savoie would skate into the Titans zone before firing a laser wrist shot low to the blocker side to give the Express a 3-1 lead after two periods.

In the third period, Tavistock would score with 11:58 remaining on shot from the point that was tipped in the slot to make the score 3-2.  Then 32 seconds after that goal, the Titans would score on a wraparound to tie the game at 3-3.  Later in the period, Tanner Moon would pick up a loose puck in the neutral zone and skate into the top of the circle before firing a wrist shot just inside the post on the Titans goalie glove side to put the Express up 4-3 with 6:31 left in the third.  However the Titans would find a loose puck after a scramble in front the Ingersoll and score a power play goal with 1:14 left in the third period to send the game to overtime.

In overtime, the Titans would send a cross ice pass in front of the Express net that found an open Tavistock player to score the winning goal at 1:15 into the overtime period

This was a spirited game and has the makings for a very close series that is now guaranteed to go at least four games.  It’s a short turn around for both teams as game three goes Sunday afternoon in Tavistock at 1:20.  Game four will be next Saturday night in Ingersoll at 8:30.
