Wednesday Feb 21st seen the Express take a trip down highway 19 to visit Tillsonburg for their first meeting of the Southern Counties play downs.
The Dove Dental Peewee AE's were ready to go after their big win the night before.
Period 1 did not see a lot of shots on net. Despite this there were some goals scored. At 8:15 Tillsonburg struck first. At 3:42 though Ingersoll would tie it up. #12 L. Skevington passed the puck around to #8 R. Skevington who passed the puck from the side of the net out to #19 K. Clifford who found the back of the net. With only 44.8 seconds left, #6 L. Dewit shot the puck which resulted in a rebound for #5 G. Folkema waiting in front & he tapped it into the net. Period 1 ended with the Express leading 2-1.
Period 2 seen Tillsonburg out shoot Ingersoll. #1 E. Spence was amazing in goal all game. He made save after save to help keep his team in the lead. With 1:01 left, #19 A. Krajewski made a pass to #2 E. Cuthbert who fired a shot from the side of the net into the top corner. Period 2 ended 3-1 Express.
Period 3 had a slower pace to it. The shots on net were even between both teams. Both goalies stood strong to shut down the scoring.
