1/21/17 Unifor 3264 (2) @ Six Nations (3)
The Unifor 3264 bantam team battled hard and showed fight but could not overcome a couple of second period turnovers and lost another one goal game falling to Six Nations 3-2.

The visitors opened the scoring early in the first period when they capitalized on the power play. An offensive zone faceoff saw the puck drawn back to Defense man Liam Carson. Carson would make a couple of moves and fire a hard wrist shot high glove side past the Blackhawks goalie.

The visitors looked to build on the early lead when winger Kieghan Osmond made a nice chip out of the defensive zone sending Alex Ball in on a breakaway. A nice save by the Six Nations goalie kept the score at 1-0 for Unifor 3264 heading into the second.

In the second period the Blackhawks would capitalize on a couple of Unifor 3264 turnovers in the neutral zone. The first turnover lead to a breakaway for the Blackhawks. The Six Nations forward would fight off a strong back check by Unifor 3264 defense man Lucas White and fire a low back hand shot that beat goalie Dawson Sharpe low blocker side.

A couple of minutes later another Unifor 3264 turnover in the neutral zone would see Sharpe facing a two on none breakaway. The Blackhawks forward would keep the puck and fire a wrist shot top shelf on Sharpe's blocker side.

Now trailing 2-1 the Unifor 3264 squad would continue to battle. Sticking to the game plan of moving the puck and a strong fore check they created numerous turnovers but could not generate many scoring chances. Eventually the visitors would tie the score at 2-2 when Colin VanDyk let a wrist shot go from the point that saw Carson make a nice tip in front of the net beating the Six Nations goalie.

The lead was short lived as the Blackhawks would score the eventual game winner just :10 later when they popped in a loose rebound in front of Sharpe giving them the lead heading into the third period.

In the third Unifor 3264 kept up the pressure but could not find that one scoring opportunity to tie the game. The game would end with Unifor 3264 losing another close one goal game.

The teams next game is Jan. 22, 2017 when they travel to Paris.
