Searles Novice Rep's take game 2 and look to close out the OMHA series against Paris on Feb 10th in Ingersoll
Searles Novice Rep's travelled to Paris for game 2 last Friday with a lead in pts of 2-0 in the 6pt series.

With the boys enjoying this unusually warm day they reluctantly entered the cold arena to play hockey.
The boys and girls from Paris came out of the change room chanting and fired up for some hockey action, while the Searles Novice Rep's were quiet with a look of intensity on their faces as they prepared to step on the ice.
The first few mins of action have both teams playing a bit conservative as they feel each other out. This quickly changes as Ty Shapton grabs a loose puck near the blue line and fires a wrist shot over the pad of the Paris goalie with assists to Ryan (Rye guy) Wolfe and Tyler Watts. Continuing with this aggressive play Ryan (Rye guy) Wolfe receives a pass from behind the net from big bro Jack Wolfe but is unable to convert the pass into a goal. The Ingersoll boys continue to pressure the Paris goalie as Nate Pike keeps a puck from going out of the zone and unleashes a rocket on net. Ingersoll keeps buzzing around the net and Landon Skevington buries a loose puck in the back of the net assisted by Willie Parsons. After the puck is dropped Brody Williams takes a pass and puts a move on the Paris defence pairing and launches a shot on net and when his rebound comes out he jumps on it blasting it past the Paris goalie with assists to Tyler Watts and Ty Shapton and giving Ingersoll the 3-0 lead which is where the first period ends.
The 2nd period starts and Ethan Cuthbert grabs the puck outside the hash marks, puts a move on the goalie as he goes to his back hand and slides it in through the 5-hole with assists to Willie Parsons and Brody Williams. Brody Williams scores so quickly that the writer was still making notes from the previous goal and missed it entirely, the assist was from Colton MacPherson. I have no doubt that it was a beauty. Ingersoll then goes on the PP and Ethan Cuthbert wins the faceoff and almost scores again as he goes around the goalie and as he is stuffing it in the goalie makes a diving save. The pressure continues and Tyler Watts takes a pass and narrowly misses the net with a shot. Half way through the period the goalies switch as Nathan White comes out and Matthew Cudney enters. As the game resumes on the next play Colton MacPherson comes flying over the blue line and cuts through the defence putting another shot on the Paris goalie. Tyler Watts finds some open space and receives a pass as he moves in on the goalie and puts a laser for a shot off the glass. Landon Skevington passes it to Ty Shapton who then sends a shot on net that Tyler Watts is there to deflect into the back of the net. Not giving the Paris goalie any time to recover Jack Wolfe brings the puck up the ice, cuts through the defence but the puck squirts loose and Ty Shapton is there and he hammers it just wide. The 2nd period ends with the score 6-0 for Ingersoll.
Paris switches their goalie to start the 3rd hoping to change the momentum of the game. Brody Williams starts the 3rd period by grabbing a pass at centre ice and wins the 1 on 1 and blasts it by the goalie for his hat trick. The puck comes out to the blue line and Jack Wolfe is there to launch a wrist shot on net that the goalie just gets a piece of. Ty Shapton then receives the puck after a give and go with Tyler Watts and makes a pass to Brody Williams who hammers home his 4th goal of the night. Nate Crane is patrolling the blue line and keeps a clearing attempt in and rifles a shot on net. Paris comes over the blue line and it looks like there will be a shot on net but it is quickly turned back around , as Tyler Watts moves the puck back into the Paris end, he passes it to Ty Shapton who feeds Landon Skevington out front who smokes it by the goalie. Nathan Pike then turns the Paris attack around and leads a rush up ice and rockets it off the goalie and onto the back boards. The puck is then passed back out to Nathan Pike who rifles a low wrist shot to the far post where Tyler Watts is waiting to deflect it into the top corner. What a beautiful goal, it deserves consideration for goal of the year! Ryan (Rye guy) Wolfe after being set up by big bro Jack Wolfe in the 1st period returns the favour as he leads his big brother with a perfect pass as Jack Wolfe steps off the point and launches another shot on goal. The 3rd period ends and the final score is 10-0 for Ingersoll.
Awesome effort boys, let's see if we can finish the series back in Ingersoll.
