Butterworth's Service Centre Novice LL travelled to Exeter on Jan 5 and 6 for the Dairy Queen Tournament.
The team played 3 games on Saturday coming away with 1 win and 2 loses. The first game was against South Huron LL 1. Unfortunately Butterworth's found it hard to get going for this game and lost 5-1. Scoring for Ingersoll was Adam V. (unassisted). With a number of hours between games, the team enjoyed some bonding with mini sticks, Uno, and DS games.
The second game was against New Hamburg. Ingersoll came away with a win of 3-1 this time . Scoring for Butterworth's were: Graham C. with 1 goal and 1 assist, and Emmitt R. with 2 goals.
All of the parents were hoping for a win in the last game on Saturday (nobody liked the prospect of playing at 8 a.m. on Sunday morning if we lost). Unfortunately, the team from Lefroy edged Ingersoll out with a 2-1 win. Emmitt R. assisted by Jacob M. scored Ingersoll's lone goal.
Ingersoll's final game of the tournament was an exciting one. It seemed that it could have gone either way. South Huron LL 2 managed to edge Ingersoll out with a 2-1 victory. Adam V. scored another unassisted goal. Goalie Dawson S. stood on his head, saving shot after shot.
