Ingersoll Thamesford Pizza’s game in Burford, Saturday
November 13 featured the debut of goaltender Bowen Douglas.
Douglas entered the game in relief of Kyle Cook at the beginning of the second period. He made some strong saves and had good support from his teammates who plugged up the area in front of the net for much of that period.
Ingersoll had started the game with a solid first period effort and just came short on several good scoring chances. Burford, however, increased the pressure as the period came to a close, and got on the scoreboard first when a deflection slipped past Cook.
In the second period Ingersoll pulled to 2 to 1 lead on goals from Joel Couse and Riley Shannon. Burford tied the game with six minutes left in the second, however, and pulled ahead two minutes later. All the third period scoring was done by Burford.
