Oxford Chiropractic scores with 2.6 sec. remaining ..... priceless
On Tuesday Jan. 6 Oxford Chiropractic atom team was handed their first HOMETOWN loss of the season. This game was our third of the series giving New Hamburg the series lead of 2-1.
Thursday evening we travelled to New Hamburg for game #4.From the opening face -off we dominated the play but came up short in the goal department until late in the game. With 2 :44 left in the third period we decided to pull the goalie for an extra attacker to get the equalizer. The score was 2-1 at this point. After :45 seconds of solid pressure in New Hamburgs end they chipped the puck out to centre ice and shot it down for an empty net goal making it 3-1. With 1:59 remaining we pulled the goalie and went deep into the offensive end and scored a goal with 1:11 remaing . With the players cheering on from the bench we once again pulled the goalie and forced New Hamburg back on their heels, causing many goal opportunities and finally were able to bury one past the netminder with 2.6 seconds on the clock. In overtime our Oxford Chiropractic team kept up the pace and scored the overtime winner creating game # 5.
