Strathroy Tournament (Game 1)
Express vs Strathroy

PLL1 (sponsored by Vision Property Management)  travelled to Strathroy last night for the first tournament of the season. In the first game we played the home team of Strathroy.

First period was a lot of getting the excitement out from being in the first tournament as a team and figuring out what the game plan was to make sure that it was a success. The Ingersoll boys had their guard up but somehow were passed by the Strathroy team for their first goal of the game at 4:09. The period ended with a second goal from that at only 55.9 seconds left.

Shots on net were Graeme taking 10, while Strathroy saw 3 shots on net

Second Period the boys knew they were still in the game but had to bring it up a notch to get to the same level of play. After a lot of back and forth at 7:19 number 5 (Parker Cook)  took the shot assisted by number 9 ( Brandt Kloepfer) that landed our first one in the net. After another goal from Strathroy at 2:37 the period wrapped up 3-1

Shots on net were Graeme taking 12 with Strathroy seeing a total of 5.

Third period Ingersoll found the quickness and plays they were looking to get from the beginning and after letting one in the net at 8:40, came back with 2 back to back goals. First was scored at 3:10 again scored by number 5 (Parker Cook) and again assisted by number 9  (Brandt Kloepfer) and second was at 1:47 by number 9 (Brandt Kloepfer).  Strathroy did see 3 penalties this period all of them for tripping and all of them being back to back. We had our goalie pulled with a little more then a minute and a half left of play which let the Strathroy team land one more in the net before the end at just 35 seconds left in the game.

Shots on Justin were 4 while we took a total of 6.

Tonight we move on to play the London West team where we hope to be a little quicker and get the most out of the shots we make on the net.
