We are back from Wasaga Beach...
After this past weekend’s trip to the International Silver Stick tournament in Wasaga Beach, it’s time to update everyone on your 2019-2020 Atom Rep Team.

Although we really had a great start to our season (going 6 games before we had a loss), lately our confidence has dwindled a little due to a couple of losses in regular season play.  That doesn’t mean that the boys or our coaching staff would go into this past weekend’s tournament without immense hope.

However, our first game against the Elmvale Coyotes was a rough go!  Just a few minutes into the first game, Elmvale scored making it 1-0 already.  Only 3 minutes later, another goal for Elmvale.  We knew we really had our work cut out for us with the score being 4-0 Elmvale at the end of the 1st.  Only a few seconds into the 2nd period, Brady Lamers scored our first goal, putting Ingersoll on the board!  Unfortunately, we just couldn’t keep it up, resulting in a disappointing loss - the final score being 8-1 Elmvale.

The boys then had a little rest and relaxation, so that we were ready to go for our second game at 4pm, where we met with the Wasaga Beach Stars.  With 8:34 left on the clock, Brady Lamers again scored our first goal of the game!  Wasaga Beach went on to score with only 38 seconds left in the 2nd.  We were so close to scoring our second goal with 5 seconds left in the period, but no such luck as the puck just didn’t want to go into the net.  After a really intense and exciting game, the score ended up being tied 1-1.

After a long wait to meet up with Parry Sound at 2pm on Sunday, November 17th, the boys were happy to get back on the ice.  The score started out being 1-0 Parry Sound after a goal in the 1st.  Ingersoll was completely robbed of a great goal in the 2nd period, where Parry Sound’s goaltender wasn’t on the puck, but the whistle blew and the referee called it NO GOAL!  Parry Sound went on to score a goal in the 2nd and a goal in the 3rd, resulting in a devastating loss of 3-0 for our Ingersoll boys.

Thanks to all of the boys for keeping your chin up during this past weekend and to the coaching staff for all of your hard work and dedication and to the parents for making great memories.

This week is a new beginning.  We are off to play the Tavistock Titans on Tuesday, November 19th at 6:15pm, a home game against the Waterford Wildcats on Thursday, November 21st at 7:10pm and another away game against the Tillsonburg Tornados on Sunday, November 24th at 12:45pm.  Good luck boys!
