Game 15 – Dec 09 2018
Ingersoll Express Novice LL Butterworths vs Port Dover Pirates
1st Period – The period started with
an attempt by #16 Kayden for Ingersoll less than a minute in. Port Dover answered right back with an
attempt on the Ingersoll net that was blocked.
At two minutes in a buzzer needed to be reset and the teams got a quick
break.
Both teams were going hard and it was pretty evenly matched. Great job by #8 Aidan trying to get the puck, and Kingsley with a great attempt on the Dover net. Dover got the only goal of the period at 3:20. Great work on defense Kayden and Sam. The team is working hard to catch and stay ahead of the really fast Port Dover team.
2nd Period – The period started with the plays going back and forth both ends. Logan stopped an attempt by Port Dover at 6:44 but we couldn’t get the puck back out and Dover got their second goal at 6:14. Our team was by no means feeling defeated the last time we played Dover we lost 6-0 this time we were holding our own and working much better as a team. At 5:25 Carson had a fantastic opportunity and the Dover goalie was down, so close but no goal. This time we kept it in their end and with team work we got our first goal #11 Kalvin assisted by #16 Kayden and #5 Eli. Persistence was paying off and we came right back with Carson getting the second goal at 5:04 assisted #11 Kalvin. No further goals in the second but we saw attempts by Brayden #2 and Carson and two good saves by our goalie Logan. Period ended 2-2
3rd Period and we have a great game to watch. The entire team was playing great. At 7:34 shortly after an attempt by Dover they took the lead. Ingersoll kept the plays going and we saw Kayden with a great pass to Sam and a great play by Brayden. #14 Carson had an attempt on the Dover net and Ingersoll fighting hard helped to regain the puck and this time the puck made it in to tie the game. Goal for #14 Carson and assist to #9 Brayden S. What a fantastic game but with half the period yet to go it was a nail bitter and Port Dover was going hard for the win. There was three great saves by Logan and Aaron doing some fantastic defense. With 35 seconds left in the period one final attempt by Dover and another save by Logan! What a fantastic game for our team! The tie was well deserved and there was a very happy change room with a lot of tired boys!
Congrats to Carson on two more goals, Kalvin on your first goal and 2nd assist, Kayden on your 6th assist, and to Brayden S. and Eli on your 3rd assists.
Game 16 – Dec 16th 2018 Ingersoll Express Novice LL Butterworths vs Tillsonburg Tornadoes #1
1st Period - We were missing a couple of players #17 Kingsley and our goalie #1 Logan. #18 Cameron stepping into the goalie role for the first time this season. The team is showing some great enthusiasm for this game being the last one of the first half. Ingersoll starting off strong with a great pass by #7 Sam to #14 Carson and we have the first goal of the game at 8:40. The team working hard trying to keep the puck in the Tillsonburg end. Great job Brayden S. Tillsonburg got the next two goals at 6:04 and 4:45 and Cameron blocked the next attempt. Kayden had an attempt on the Tillsonburg net at 1:49 that was blocked and Tillsonburg recovered the puck and took a straight away all the way with a save by Cameron. Ingersoll gained control of the puck and with 1:22 left on the clock we tied the game with a goal by #14 Carson assisted by #16 Kayden. Score 2-2
2nd period – Tillsonburg took the lead early in the second with a goal at 8:13 and 6:31. Ingersoll trying hard but Tillsonburg getting the upper hand. Cameron with a save at 6:19. Our team wasn’t giving up and we had an attempt at 5:55 by Carson and a shot on Tillsonburg net by our defense. Our team was digging trying for a goal but Tillsonburg increased the lead again at 4:14. At 3:15 Ingersoll penalty for tripping #9 Brayden S. and Tillsonburg was on powerplay. We made it through with no more goals in the 2nd and another save for Cameron.
3rd period – The score going into the 3rd was 5-2 but it was great to see the team still hammering away. Carson with two attempts early in the period, then at 6:07 Ingersoll got their third goal #12 Aaron. Tillsonburg wasn’t going to stop either and had two attempts that were both stopped by Cameron At 4:01 Tillsonburg got their 6th goal and it the coaches let our team have a bit of fun and let the players try some new positions. In the last 40 seconds Tillsonburg got the two final goals of the game and final score was 8-3.

Congratulations to Carson on two more goals, Kayden on your 7th assist, Aaron on your 4th goal and to the entire team and coaches we have come a long way since the start of the season and we are going into the Second Half in the A divison!
