January 6, 7, 8th Butterworth's Novice LL Competed in Paris Tournament
On January 6, 7, and 8th the Ingersoll Butterworth Express competed in the Lisa Dalpe Memorial Tournament in Paris. The team opened up the tournament on Friday afternoon against the Paris Wolf Pack.

Colton Thompson would score the only goal for the Express in the 2nd period, giving them a 1-0 win over Paris. Nolan Crane would earn the shut out and player of the game award. Brody Fuller, Tyson Weber, Nathan Muller, Damon Elliott and Colton Thompson all played a great defensive game in front of Crane.  On Friday, the Express would play 2 games, the first would be against a strong team from West London. Heading into the 3rd period with the Express down 1-0, the team had many scoring chances but couldn't get one past the West London goaltender. Until 45 seconds left in the 3rd period when Colton Thompson would break free and score an unassisted goal to tie the game. Thompson would have another great scoring chance with 5 secs left, but couldn't find the back of the net ending the game in a 1-1 tie.  On Friday afternoon, the Express would take on a team from New Hamburg. Opening up the scoring in the 1st period was Brady Lamers. Nathan Muller would also score in the opening frame with an assist going to Maeve Baker. Colton Thompson would score the eventual game winner in the 2nd period giving the Express a 3-2 win. With that win the team finished second place in their pool and would qualify for a quarter finals game to be held Sunday morning. Sunday morning's quarter finals game would be against the Mississauga Applewood Coyotes. The Coyotes were a tough, high scoring team that scored a whopping 23 goals in three round robin games. The Express came ready to play and the score was 0-0 after the first. Nolan Crane would be busy in next 2 periods, only giving up 3 goals and the Express would end up losing 3-0 to a great Mississauga team. The loss would end the tournament for the team but it was a great weekend of hockey!
