"Strength does not come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't"

Thursday night home game night and the second game in our (at least) 6 games in four days run.
We welcomed the Tillsonburg Tornadoes for the first time this year. Coming off a high scoring affair in Langton the night before we knew tonight would be a lot closer of a match. This would also be the first of our back to back games with them as we play them first tomorrow morning in the opening match at the SDMHA Rep Olympics tournament.
The first period saw the Tornadoes strike first with a quick shot off the rebound and managed to beat our goal tender to open the scoring. The rest of the period was a battle in the neutral zone and battling out of our end for puck control.

The second saw Tillsonburg on the attack and scored the second goal of the match. Extending their lead to two. Not giving up though our Express kept on fighting and pushed the Tornadoes back into their end. With the forward pressure and getting the puck to the net. #10 Jonah Martire streaking down the wing and battling off the Tornadoes defender sent a beautiful back hand up and over the Tillsonburg net minder and broke open the scoring for our Express. The assist went to #15 "C" Nathan Crane
End of two Tillsonburg Tornadoes 2 - Ingersoll Express 1
The third started as many of our third periods started in the past. The Express shot out of the station as if the first two periods were just a warm up. Only minutes into the period #14 Dylan Lale assisted by #15 "C" Nathan Crane put the puck on the net and managed to just slide it under the sprawling Tillsonburg goal tender. The pressure would not relent and the puck was held in the Tillsonburg end of almost the entire period but we could not manage to get the puck past the visitors before the time ran out.

During the game we lost a key player to our "Towers of Power" defensive line. #7 Charlie Ashman went down hard into the boards with what appeared to be a knee injury. The whole team with "Chuck" in their minds wishing him all the best and a speedy recovery. Hope to have you back soon Charlie!

"One thing about championship teams is that they're resilient. No matter what is thrown at them, no matter how deep the hole, they find a way to bounce back and overcome adversity."

Nick Saban

* Editors note from the scoring correction department. #7 Charlie "Chuck" Ashman was incorrectly reported to have assisted #15 Nathan Cranes goal. So Nate NO HAT TRICK FOR YOU! Chuck score more goals so we can cover the "OFFICIAL SCORE SHEET" mistakes
