Our Ingersoll Express train traveled down the 401 to the NDCC & Ayr Farmers Mutual Arena home of the Ayr Flames. With our train on the winning track from the start of the regular season we were hoping to snuff out the Flames giving them their first loss of the year on their home ice.

Game three of the regular season had the Searles Motor Products Novice Rep team in Ayr to meet up with the Ayr Flames for their first match of the year. Ayr came into this game with a gleaming 5-0 record with 34 goals for a 2 against. No worries for our Express train we don't care about stats but what you put out on the ice!
The Ayr team hit the home ice hot and scored their first goal at 9:16 of the first period the first goal of the regular season allowed by our Express goaltenders. Not to be out done, barely over a minute later with a battle in front of the net our resident "Ruskie" #4 Urijah Jewkes assisted by #10 Jonah Martire evened up the score at 1's. From there on it was a back and forth battle for the puck and our aggressive team once again drew the attention of the officials and at 5:56 drew a hooking penalty and sent #3 Josh Robles to the sin bin for two minutes. The Express battled through the short handed time and end the first knotted at ones'.
Second period 1-1
As always our Express hit the ice in the second like a bullet train pressuring the Flames on their home ice and at 7:47 of the second #10 Jonah Martire broke the one all tie and made it 2-1 for the visiting team. Then again our aggressive defence was called for body checking at 3:01 by #15 Nathan Crane leaving us short handed for the second time in the match. Our team though with one of our biggest defence men sitting in the box would not let them get down, and even while short handed #9 Colton Macpherson extended the lead by two 3-1 for our visiting Express.
 Third period 3-1
The third was much the same as the first two periods end to end and battle for puck position. Our Express slowly as the period worn on began to show some signs of running out of steam and finally the Flames were able to crack the Hardeman wall in front of our net and inched closer 3-2 still for the visiting Express. With the clock slowly ticking away and with time running out once again the Flames pushed on and were able to even the score at 3's. Still with the two goal advantage gone our Express would not give up and battle right until the final buzzer and leaving NDCC with our heads high and leaving with a point and ending the winning ways of the Ayr Flames and pushing them harder than any team they had played previously.

Still our undefeated streak lives on and we carry it back to our home ice Thursday October 15th against the Port Dover Pirates.
Also looking forward to our first big tournament at the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame Classic this weekend starting Friday! Remember team what looks like a big Saturday with 3 games in the one day we all face adversity. Take this from a top Pro Athlete " I will Never quit. I persevere and thrive on adversity. My team expects me to be physically harder and mentally stronger than our competition. If knocked down, I will get back up every time. I will draw on every remaining source of strength to help my team and to accomplish our goal. I am never out of the fight." - Jason Witten
