Close game for the BrokerLink Atom Reps
There's never a dull moment when you go to Burford...

The BrokerLink Atom Reps were back in action Monday night in an interesting and exciting game vs the Burford Coyotes.   This game will probably be best remembered for the confusion...not only did the players not know what was being called by the refs, it appeared that even the refs didn't understand each other's calls.  Icing or not icing?  Goal or no goal?  Despite the confusion, it was an action-packed game where we saw cherry-pickers, crazy fans, and over a dozen penalties being called.
Five penalties were handed out in the 1st period and Ingersoll did a great job of killing off an early 5-on-3 to hold the score at 0-0.
With six penalties being called in the 2nd the kids got some 3-on-3 action, but it wasn't until 1:12 remaining in the period that Ingersoll's Gavin Bryant was finally able to break the draw off a beautiful setup from Josh Clark and Tye House.

Going into the 3rd period and up only 1-0, the Express had to step it up to hang onto the lead.  The Coyotes were not backing down though, and managed to put one into the Ingersoll net early in the period to tie the game.  Ingersoll fought back and slid one right under the Burford goalie's pad and into the net, but the goal was waved off (??...).

The Express squad was not to be discouraged though - they remained tough and determined.  With frustration rising, more penalties being called, and both teams desperate to score, Ingersoll was able to capitalize on their power play as Ben White scored the go-ahead goal with the help of Alex Schuett and Clark.  With just under five minutes remaining, Josh Clark took a pass from Tye House to earn his third point of the game, firing the puck past the Burford netminder to give the Express a 3-1 lead.  At this point the fans were on the edges of their seats...as certain teams have been known to give up a lead in the last few minutes of a game...but not this time!  The Express squad held on and, despite a late Burford goal with 12 seconds remaining, came out with a 3-2 victory.  Great work Express!
