NotesC.E.P.U. Rebounds With Solid Team Effort in Norwich
Sunday afternoon, the Ingersoll Bantam LL C.E.P.U. team travelled to Norwich for a match of the 1st vs. 2nd team from the first half of the season. In their last game Norwich pulled off a convincing 5-1 victory in Ingersoll. This had C.E.P.U. out for some revenge of that loss and with dropping their last 2 league games they were extra motivated for the game.
Ingersoll controlled the play of the game right from the first face off and kept constant pressure on the Norwich team. C.E.P.U. had numerous chances to score but the Norwich goaltender, Aric Pedley, kept turning Ingersoll away empty handed.
After 2 scoreless periods, Ingersoll Captain, Brodie Warnock finally managed to score at 7:35 of the 3rd period on a high wrist shot over the glove of Pedley. The goal was unassisted and gave Ingersoll all they would need to secure the victory as Josh Loranger earned his 3rd shutout of the season.
The game was a solid team effort all the way through the line-up, but it would not come without some loss as with time expired and emotions running high due to the tight game, a scrum would ensue and both teams will be without 3 players each for the next 2 games as they serve suspensions.
Noah Schonberger was awarded the teams Player of the Game for Ingersoll.
Ingersoll's next game is next Monday, January 28th at 8:00 PM when they host Burford with a shortened bench.
