C.E.P.U. Loses First League Game

Monday night at the Ingersoll Arena the rematch between the Norwich #1 team and the Ingersoll C.E.P.U. Local 3264 was held at 8:00 pm.  In their previous meeting Norwich managed a late 3rd period comeback to escape with a 3-3 tie.  Entering the game Ingersoll was ahead in the standings with Norwich right on their heels.

35 seconds into the game Carter Matthews would start the scoring on a nice individual effort to put Norwich up 1-0.  Just over a minute later Brodie Warnock for Ingersoll replied with his own unassisted goal to knot things at 1-1.

With a shortened bench Ingersoll found themselves down a pair of goals at the end of the 2nd period and for good measure Norwich piled in 2 more in the 3rd.  Matthews for Norwich was a one man wrecking crew with 3 goals and 2 assists while Noah Butler had the other 2 goals and an assist to go with them.

Ingersoll was overmatched in the game but had a number of chances with 3 goal posts that could have been momentum changers if the bounces would have gone their way.

Ingersoll goes again on Tuesday night at the Ingersoll Arena when they face hometown rivals Thamesford Pizza in the battle of Ingersoll.
