C.E.P.U. Local 3264 Finishes First Half On Top
Thursday night the Bantam LL C.E.P.U. Local 3264, looking to clinch first place for the 1st half of the season, took to the ice in Delhi with victory on their mind. A victory was a must to accomplish the first half objective as earlier in the week Norwich made things very interesting handing C.E.P.U. their first league loss of the season.
At the 7:47 mark of the first period, Kevin Cox took a feed in his own end from fellow defenseman Josh Holmes, skated end to end and roofed a wrist shot over the should of Delhi netminder Eric Rhame. Just as things looked to be off to a great start for Ingersoll with the early goal, Rhame got hot and turned away shot after shot from the C.E.P.U. squad. Playing equally as well, Ingersoll goalie Josh Loranger made a number of key saves to preserve the one goal lead as both teams traded chances. In the end the Cox goal was the only puck to enter behind either goalie and Loranger earned his 2nd shutout of the season.
With the win C.E.P.U. completed their first half schedule in 1st place overall in league play with a record of 10-1-3. Congratulations C.E.P.U.
