Fourth Time's a Charm for Dairy Queen Tykes
Sunday January 16th we found ourselves on the road traveling to Dorchester for our sixth ice time in three days. Thinking the boys from the Dairy Queen team might be a little exhausted after a weekend loaded with hockey they proved the fanfare wrong.

The very impressive new arena in Dorchester must have pumped the boys up as they got off to a roaring start. Matthew D was able to dig the puck loose after a very strong forecheck and in Sidney Crosby fashion he pulled off the famous “wrap around” goal (very nice Matthew). Shortly there after on a play that went tic-tac-toe, Dylan D’s hard work along the wall proved beneficial as Jesse J fed Ben B who was able to get a backhander past the net minder. The Dorchester team tried to mount a comeback but it was thwarted when Caleb C kicked out the right pad to stop a breakaway. That key save seemed to have restored the momentum and Ingersoll went on the attack again with Ben B getting his second goal of the game with assists going to the “crash and bang” brothers Lucas and Ben W. The attack remained steady and strong and Ingersoll was very sound defensively with an ever solid Alex S in great position all game long, and Caleb C’s stand up style kept any opposition chance at bay. After Ethan M was stopped on a breakaway, Ben W scored the next goal with a long rush up the right side thanks to the defensive work by Kaleb K chipping the puck off the boards and Noah C holding off the Dorchester forecheck. Ben B scored the next goal to complete his hat-trick with the assists going to Alex S and Nathan E. With the score now 5-0 the boys from Dorchester mounted a charge once again but Ben W put stop to that with his second goal and 4th point of the game, and assisting on the goal were his brother Lucas and Nathan E. With the score now 6-0 it seemed only fair to let the other team have some chances and they were finally able to get a couple by the team. Ingersoll Dairy Queen put a final stamp on the game with a goal by Ben W capping his hat-trick and the assists going to the Braden W and Bryson G. Written by: Shannon Brown
