NotesIngersoll Peewee #3 LL End Regular Season on Losing Note
On Tuesday night Ingersoll #3, Carmeuse Lime & Stone traveled to Waterford to take on Waterford #1.
The Ingersoll boys could not get things going tonight as they gave up 2 goals in the 1st and 2 in the 3rd and would eventually end up on the wrong side of the scoreboard.
Entering the 2nd period down a pair of goals, Ingersoll showed some spark when they replied with a pair of goals of their own from Brady Soetemans and Adam DeBruyn to pull even with Waterford at the end of the 2nd. Assisting on the goals were John Ryan (2), Kevin Cox (2), Noah Schonberger (1) and DeBruyn (1).
The tie would be short lived as Waterford would tally 2 more times in the 3rd, the 2nd goal coming with 1:31 left as Ingersoll attempted to push for the tie. Ingersoll coach, Roger Campbell, would lift goalie Kenny Moodie for a sixth attacker which paid off with a goal with 0:41 seconds remaining. In the dying seconds Ingersoll would press for the tie once again, but just came up short. This would result in their 3rd loss in a row to wind up the regular season.
The Hustler of the Game Award was not awarded on this night as there was not solid/sustained performance on the ice from any one of the players. The Hustler of the Game was given to show recognition of the team on ice assistant and most loyal fan, Briana. Unfortunately, her words of encouragement were not enough to lift Ingersoll to victory.
