Ingersoll #3 Own the Ice - Lose on the Scoreboard
On Saturday, Ingersoll Peewee LL #3, Carmeuse Lime and Stone traveled to Tillsonburg to play a rescheduled match from February 14th.
Dylan Bull from Tillsonburg opened the scoring in the first minute of the game and it looked like it would be a long afternoon for the squad from Ingersoll. Following the goal Ingersoll would rebound and began to gain momentum as they finished the period only down the early goal.
In the 2nd period Ingersoll carried the play to Tillsonburg and they would tie the score with just over a minute left on a goal from Adam DeBruyn. Assisting on the DeBruyn goal was Kenny Moodie. Just as it appeared that Ingersoll would be entering the 3rd period in a tie game, Justin Odorjan pounced on a free puck dumped up the ice and managed to slide it by Ingersoll goalie, Brady Harris with 0.01 of a second left on the clock. Video replay would have been useful to challenge the timing of the puck crossing the line, but the feed from the Toronto War Room was down.
Ingersoll would continue to dominate play in the 3rd period, even after having the wind taken out of their sails by the late goal. They continued to press and even with the goal empty in the late minutes of the period were not able to come up with the elusive goal to tie the game.
Brady Soetemans was awarded the Hustler of the Game for the Ingersoll squad as he turned in a solid defensive effort in a game that saw him take up a position on the blueline to fill in for the regular defense that were not able to be in the lineup.
