NotesMoodie Earns Shutout in Return to Carmeuse Lime
After missing the last couple of games Kenny Moodie returned to his place between the pipes for the Carmeuse Lime & Stone Peewee #3 team to earn his first shutout of the season.
What Moodie saw in front of him was a team full of motivation that he had not witnessed this year. For the 2nd straight game the Ingersoll team played a solid and inspired game at both ends of the ice. While the victims of the previous game was Norwich, tonight it was their neighbors to the South from Delhi.
Dominating endzone play, Jack Skillings fired up the Ingersoll team in the 1st period when he blocked a Delhi shot and went in from his own blueline on a breakaway and buried a hard wrist shot to the top corner of the net over Ryan Degeyter's blocker.
Following the Skillings goal, Ingersoll would tally 4 more times in the 2nd period with goals coming from Adam DeBruyn (2), Jared Campbell and Noah Schonberger. Assisting on the goals were Johnathan Ager, Campbell and Skillings.
In the dying minutes of the 3rd period and after a light night between the pipes Moodie made a series of solid saves to preserve the team shutout.
Coaches for the team couldn't be happier with the effort for the past 2 games and even more so, how each of the boys has taken on their team role. With a balanced attack, solid defense and timely goaltending the team is poised for a solid 2nd half.
For the 2nd straight game, Nick Dimmers was solid on Defense for Ingersoll and he was awarded Hustler of the Game.
