Carmeuse Lime & Stone Peewee #3 Upsets Hometown Rivals Cami Black in Local League Exhibition
On Friday night the Carmeuse Lime & Stone took to the ice against their Hometown rival Cami Black. Entering into the game with just 1 win and 2 ties in 10 games the Carmeuse team knew they would have a battle on their hands with the 8-3 Cami Black Team.
After a spirited 1st period that saw many chances back and forth neither team was able to get on the scoreboard with stellar play from Brady Harris, netminder for Carmeuse and Josh Loranger from Cami Black.
At 7:52 of the 2nd frame Noah Schonberger lifted the Carmeuse team with the opening goal of the game on a nice pass from Johnathan Ager. Just 41 seconds later Justin Borland knotted the game at 1 on a goal mouth scramble with the assist going to Zach Catry. Carmeuse would strike 2 more times with goals from Adam DeBruyn and Malcolm Rowe 10 seconds apart to jump out to a 3-1 lead. Matt Burns from the Cami team would score late in the 2nd to cut lead to 1 going into the 3rd.
After a number of solid saves from Brady Harris, Carmeuse would seal the victory with DeBruyn scoring his 2nd of the game and Kenny Moodie tallied with just under 2 minutes left for insurance. Assists in the game also went to Jared Campbell - 2 and Malcolm Rowe - 1.
Brady Harris was awarded with the Hustler of the Game for his efforts between the pipes.
