Ingersoll Grey Plays Like a Team in Belmont
Submitted By Sarah Skinner on Sunday, March 20, 2011
With only 5 games left of our season, we find ourselves in the town of Belmont on this the 19th of March.
After the team cheer in the dressingroom, you could hear the boys as they left the changeroom cheering themselves onto the ice.  What a positive way to start the game!
The game got of to a quick start with most of the play in Belmont's end for the first half of the game.  Ben W scored our first three goals of the game, the first one assisted by Dylan D.  Which put us ahead of Belmont for most of the game.

You could actually see the boys getting tired in the last quarter of the game, but they still managed to get 2 more goals.  As the shift change happened, you could see Alex S skate out onto the ice and go directly to the puck.  With a real goal in mind, that is just what Alex did, dropped it right in, totally unassisted.
As the final minutes were counting down, Belmont was able to get 2 past the whole team.  But Ingersoll Grey answered right back - with 1 more score by Ethan M, assisted by Jesse J, and Kaleb K.
Unfortunately we ran out of time, and we ended the game with our first loss in a long time.
Goalie Eddie Ball, played a great game deflecting numerous shots on goal.
I have to say, that Ingersoll Grey left the Belmont arena with their heads held high knowing they played the best game they possibly could.  Final score Ingersoll 5 - Belmont 6.
