Game #2 S.F OMHA Playdowns - O.T solves nothing.
If you were not at the Madhouse tonight, you missed one hell of a hockey game as the Ingersoll Express hosted the Rockets from Strathroy in Game 2 of the Semi Finals of the OHMA playdowns. Ingersoll won game 1 on the road, and looked to take a stranglehold on the series, however the Rockets had their own ideas and wanted nothing more than to tie this series up. Tanner Belore got the nod again in net as we were anxiously awaiting puck drop.

Both teams played a full 40 minutes. The referee tandem buried their whistles deep in their pockets and away we went. Belore was tested early, but you could tell he had his game face on and was ready to do everything he needed to do to give the hometown Express a chance to win. The first ended scoreless as both teams had great chances to tickle the twine.

Ingersoll scored with 11:42 left in the second to open the scoring as Alex Stratton and Tyler Fleming battled to control the puck behind the Rockets goal, then found a wide open Ethan Kish, who let a wicked wrist shot go, beating the goalie blocker side. The Rockets would tie the game with two minutes left in the third, when Ingersoll gave up an odd man rush, and even though Belore made a great save on the initial shot, the rebound landed on a unprotected Rockets player and had an open cage to slide the frozen rubber in the back of the net.

The only penalty of the game was given to Strathroy on a tripping call, but the boys could not score. Both goaltenders took over at this point where each team had tremendous chances, but no goals would be scored in the third, and we headed to the extra frame tied at 1-1.

Again it was a back and fourth period, with solid chances by both teams, but in the end, the goalies stole the show, and the final buzzer sounded with nothing settled other than both teams heading home tonight with 1 point each.

We are back at it in Strathroy on Tuesday with the boys set to play game three in the Rockets barn. Great game boys, we are proud of your efforts tonight.
