A late goal in the third period by winger Nolan Costa lifted the Carmeuse Lime Midget LL2 to their second win in as many nights over the visiting Paris Wolfpack 4.

Coming off a very spirited game the night before in Paris, both sides came out and focused on hockey.

The first two periods saw both goalies come up with numerous saves to keep the game deadlocked. Solid defensive zone coverage by the homeside allowed goalie Dawson Sharpe to make relatively easy saves throughout the game and earned him a well deserved shutout.

The first real opportunity for the Express came in the second period when Costa fired a shot from the high slot. Winger Caleb Clifford parked himself in front of the Wolfpack goalie and managed to tip the shot forcing an excellent glove save to keep the game tied.

After the previous game saw 50 minutes in penalties, it took until the third period for the first of two penalties to be called. Both times the visitors found themselves short-handed and both times were able to successfully kill off the Ingersoll powerplays. But it was only a minute after the last Paris penalty ended that Costa ripped a wrist shot top corner on the Paris goalie's glove side. Costa finished off a play started with good hustle by Defenseman Luke White, who along with defenseman Avery Shrigley, generated many rushes throughout the game.

White carried the puck into the Wolfpack zone and sent the puck around the back of the net into the far corner where Clifford picked up the puck and found a wide open Costa sneaking down from the blue line. Costa took a stride and beat the visiting goalie with 5:44 left in the game.

The homeside buttoned up there solid defensive play further and did not allow the visitors a good scoring chance to tie the game.

The win sends the teams record to 3-1-1 to start the second half.
