Express vs Stars
On Dec 4th, our Dove Dental Ingersoll Peewee AE's welcomed the Cayuga Stars for their first meeting of the season.
The boys were ready to go right off puck drop. Shots throughout the period were even, but our Express boys were able to score first. At 2:29, #5 C. Hughes won the faceoff. After a quick scramble, #17 E. Cuthbert grabbed the puck & shot high glove side to put Ingersoll ahead. Then at 1:42, #16 A. Patterson stopped a clearing attempt, skated around & found #17 Cuthbert in front of the goal who slide it along the ice to beat the Cayuga goalie for his 2nd of the night. Not to be outdone, Cayuga scored 5 seconds later right off the faceoff. Period 1 ended 2-1 Express.
Period 2 had Cayuga outshoot Ingersoll slightly. They were able to score & tie it up. Then with 54.8 seconds left, #5 Hughes took a shot which hit the goalies glove & #18 C. McNeil was there to tip it in the air right into the net. Amazing team work boys! Period 2 ended 3-2 Ingersoll.
Period 3 had our Express boys continue to put pressure on Cayuga in their end. At 12:57, #5 Hughes, with his 3rd assist of the night, found #17 Cuthbert who scored his 3rd goal of the night. With 9:21 left, #13 T Murray was streaking up the ice & made a beauty of a pass over to #9 N. Muller who was able to beat the goalie. With 1:14 left, Cayuga was able to score to pull within 2. The boys did an amazing job of keeping the puck in the Cayuga end until only a few seconds left. Cayuga pulled their goalie for the 6th attacker, but #1 T. Belore stopped the last couple of shots to secure the win for the boys.
Final: Ingersoll 5 Cayuga 3.
