Vision Property Mgmt weekend wrap up!
It was as busy weekend at the Ingersoll arena with Carmeuse Lime Tournament filling all the time slots at the arena.  The two Ingersoll Atom LL teams squared off for the first time this season and it was an excellent battle that ended in a 2-2 tie.  Damien Van Damme was rock solid in goal and he was helped by forward Cole Ialenti who was chosen as the player of the game.  Congratulations Cole on your outstanding performance!

The Sunday game took place in Thamesford where Ingersoll played host to the Waterford Wildcats #2 team.  That too was an intense game and all the players looked great and Cole Brownscombe chalked up a hat trick!  It was a battle to the very end and both teams walked away with a tie.
The scoring got started at 4:45 of the first period when the Ingersoll players where trapped in their own end and the puck got flipped over a sprawling goalie.  Waterford followed that goal up with another quickly after at 4:24 after a 3 on 2 resulted in the rebound finding a Wildcat stick and an open side of the net.  Ingersoll battled back and at 2:51 cut the lead in half when the red hot #11 Cole Ialenti raced up the right side of the ice and fired the puck just wide of the net.  The rebound came perfectly off the boards behind the end to the stick of #13 Cole Brownscombe who rifled the puck into the back of the net.  Great job going to the net Cole!  The time was winding down in the period and #12 Marshall Karmiris found himself on a break away and made an excellent shot the net.  The goalie was in good position and steered the puck wide of the net.  The score at the end of the first was 2-1.
Ingersoll started the second period with lots of tenacity and produced several great scoring chances.  The defence was holding the blue line and getting the puck back deep in the Wildcat end of the ice.  The forwards played excellent position and forced the Wildcats to spread out to coving the attackers.  #5 Danny Kaiser had 2 great shots from point blank but the Waterford goalie somehow managed to make the saves.  After the face off the puck was shot back toward the net and #13 Cole Brownscombe again found the puck on his stick and buried it into the mesh to tie the game.  It was a team effort to get that one by the goalie at 5:18.  The following shift finished just as well as the last when #17 JR Sholdice made a great stop at the blue line to hold the puck onside.  He took a big wrist shot toward the net that deflective off a player out front and onto the magnetic stick of #13 Cole Brownscombe.  Cole moved the puck to his forehand and snapped the puck past the diving goalie for his third of the game!  That goal put Ingersoll in the lead with the score at 3-2!  The Ingersoll players continued to dominate the puck possession until the clock expired to end the second period.
The third period was evenly matched with both sides doing a good job of clearing the puck and moving it down the ice.  The play was tight and both goalies made excellent saves to hold the score.  With half the period off the clock Ingersoll was trapped deep in their own zone and the Wildcats scratched away at the net.  Ingersoll was tired and could not clear the puck to get a line change.  Waterford jammed away at the puck until it finally found a crack and slid over the line for a goal.  The score was now 3-3 with 4:44 remaining.  Ingersoll rebounded with some fresh legs and worked the puck to the Wildcats end of the ice.  The players fought for every inch and puck made its way to the blue line a few times only to be fired back at the net by the Ingersoll defence.  The chances where there but the luck was not with us and the score remained tied.  It looked as if it would end that way but with 30 seconds on the clock the Wildcats made their way down the ice on a 3 on 2 and rang the first shot off the post.  The second shot was not as lucky for Ingersoll and the goal put the Wildcats ahead 4-3.   The game looked to be over but the Ingersoll players did not give up.  With only 1.7 seconds left in the game #2 Nathan Kapitor shot the puck into the open side of the net to tie up the game and deny Waterford the win!  Was an Awesome finish to a well played game!  Congrats to all the players!
