Ingersoll’s
defensive corps (Daniel Martineau, Ethan Emerson, Ben Brown, Brennan Rupert,
Nathan Graham)
put forth a solid effort as the Bantam rep team defeated the Simcoe Warriors 4 to 1 on Wednesday night. With the victory, the Express move on to the OMHA semi-final against the still to be determined winner of the South Huron vs Lambeth series. Ben White led the way offensively in game three with a pair of goals for the Express. Joel Verspeeten and Nathan Graham also scored for Ingersoll, while Parker Hodgson and Dayton Racicot picked up assists. The game saw the return to the line-up of Christian Lee, who made his presence known with a solid hit on gritty Warriors forward #17 in the third period. Symon Hutcheson had one of his best games of the season, for-checking, back-checking and throwing his weight around with energy and determination. With ten minutes to go in the game and Ingersoll up 3 to 0, Isaac Westlake earned a double minor and a game misconduct for slew-footing. Having been suspended once already earlier in the season, Westlake will now be forced to serve a two game suspension.
