Carmeuse Tames Cougars
After fifteen minutes of exciting hockey action the score remained 0-0 last night at the Ingersoll District Memorial Centre, as Carmeuse Lime Ltd hosted the Mount Brydges Cougars.   Just five seconds into the second period, #6 Eric Savoie, assisted by #15 Dawson Kays (C), made the score 1-0 for Carmeuse.  The Cougars would answer that at 10:11, but there was still lots of time and exciting hockey left to play.

Carmeuse net-minder Ryan Calder is known to be very active playing the puck and last night one Mount Brydges player seemed to take particular exception to this style of goaltending, interfering with Calder in the first period and again in the second period; this time, after shooting the puck he attempted to follow the puck into the net.  Calder was shaken after he successfully stopped both the puck and the player.    Instead of a goal, the Mount Brydges player would return to the penalty box; the call Interference/Protection of Goaltender.  Calder remained in the game.

Mount Brydges would take the lead at 12:20 of the third period and would increase their physical style of hockey.  Carmeuse continued to play their style of patient discipline, which was rewarded at 7:23 when Kays, assisted by #8 Nick Likins and #7 Tyler Arts tied the score.  Just a little over four minutes later, Savoie, assisted by Likins, scored the game-winning goal at 3:00.

Carmeuse is on the road today, travelling to the Huntsville Otters Midget AE Tournament where the team will play their first game at 3:10 against the Eganville Valley Storm.
