Express Bantam Rep In Second Round Of OMHA Playoffs.
The Ingersoll Express Bantam Rep team sponsored by Louie's Pizza and Pasta are matched up against the Paris Wolfpack in their second round of OMHA playoffs. They played two games so far in the series the first in Paris Thursday night then at home on Saturday night.
In the first game on the road Ingersoll suffered a 5-2 loss to the Wolf Pack. The boys were tired from the game the night before against Simcoe and were short players which did not help on the big ice. Ingersoll's two goals came early in the 2nd and late in the 3rd. both points were scored on the power play the first goal was scored by Maxx Shelton who received the puck out in front of the net from Alex Foster and Nathan Graham. The other goal was a point shot by Tanner Gray from Nathan Graham.
The second game back home at the "Madhouse" was a different story. Ingersoll was rested and running like a well oiled machine. Paris stuck first at 6:40 in the 1rst and then Ingersoll tied it up a minute later during a scramble when Parker Hodgson put the puck in the net assisted by Maxx Shelton. Going into the 2nd tied 1-1 Paris moved ahead scoring at 13:03, but the Express again tied it up at 9:00 minutes when Liam Knox made a nice pass to Justin Holmes who buried the rubber, Ingersoll then moved ahead 3-2 at 3:34 with a goal from Maxx Shelton who got the puck from Holmes behind the net. Paris got their third and final goal at 13:53 in the 3rd period to make it 3 all until Alex Foster passed up to Daniel Martineau who carried the puck up the wing and sniped the top corner. The fifth and final goal for the Express was a ripper from the point from Ian Fraser assisted by Foster and Holmes ending it 5-2. The 3rd game is in Paris Wednesday night. Go Express!
