The Tremblett’s YIG Peewee AE Express hosted the
league’s top team, the Caledonia Thunder in recent action.
The Thunder came out strong catching the Express on their heels and scoring five goals in the first period. Caledonia dominated the play and seized control of the game with speed and forechecking that the Express couldn’t match.
Down five goals heading in to the second period, the grocery boys fought back and played the Thunder much harder only giving up one goal over the ten minute frame. The third period opened with the Tremblett’s boys getting on the board on a nice effort from Lucas Turner, carrying the puck through the neutral zone before firing the puck from just inside the blue line behind the Thunder goaltender. Colin VanDyk assisted on Turner’s marker. Caledonia then replied within a minute and added two more before the game ended making the final 9-1 in favour of the Thunder. The Tremblett’s team has a busy week ahead with games against Embro and Simcoe prior to participating in their first tournament of the season in St. Marys.
