The Final Countdown Tied in Strathroy
There were twenty-eight minutes and four seconds of exciting hockey action prior to the first goal being scored, Tuesday night at the Gemini Sports Complex, where Carmeuse Lime Ltd met the second place Strathroy Jr Rockets.  Throughout those twenty-eight minutes, the arena was filled with collective reactionary sighs and anticipatory cheers, as each team created numerous offensive opportunities, brilliantly met by two very capable goaltenders.  At 1:56 of the second period, Strathroy would somehow find a way to get the puck past the Carmeuse net-minder, #30 Ryan Calder.

Throughout the entire game, the effort demonstrated by Carmeuse was anything but dull.  If the team was intimidated by the fact Strathroy was comfortably in second place in league standings it was not evident.  There was a quiet discipline demonstrated by each Carmeuse player.  This discipline meant less time in the penalty box; Carmeuse served only three minor penalties throughout the game, one in each period.

Carmeuse defenseman #8 Sam Tasker, assisted by #19 Dawson Kays and #18 Jason Arts, made the score 1-1 at 9:56 of the third period.  Tasker and Kays would later lend their support to #20 Devin Freeman, who made the score 2-1 at 6:29.    The game would end 2-2 after the Jr Rockets fired back at 3:04.

At time of writing, the Strathroy Jr Rockets remain in second place with 26 points (12-3-2).  Carmeuse Lime Ltd with a record of 9-6-4 are presently in third place with 22 points. The Lambton Shores Predators are nipping at their heels with 20 points (9-8-2).  Leading the league is the South Kent Lightning with 29 points (14-4-1).

This weekend Carmeuse Lime Ltd will be in Ridgetown as they compete in the 36th Annual Groundhog Tournament, hosted by the South Kent Lighting.
