Carmeuse Rocks the Rock
Despite an uncharacteristically slow and sluggish start last night at the Ingersoll District Memorial Centre, Carmeuse Lime Ltd forged a 7-3 win over the visiting St Marys Rock.

The Rock started the night’s offense with an easy and unassisted goal at 10:42 of the first period.  Zach Catry #4, assisted by #15 Parker Moon, would make an official response at 7:37. It would be the last goal of the period.

Like the period prior, the first goal would be registered at 10:42, but this time it would be Carmeuse’s #19 Dawson Kays, assisted by #12 Duncan Chevrier and #18 Jason Arts. St Marys tied the score at 8:11, but the tie would be short lived when Arts, assisted by #17 Christian Johnston, put the puck into the St Marys net at 4:55.  Arts was only getting warmed up as he and #8 Sam Tasker offered their offensive support to Chevrier, who made the score 4-2 at 0:56.

During the intermission, Carmeuse’s head coach Henry Catry advised his team he had good news and bad news.  He delivered the good news first; they were winning by two goals. The bad news came as no surprise and it concerned their level of play.

Carmeuse wasted no time showing improvement in their level of play, when, at 14:07 of the third period, Kays, assisted by Arts, put another goal in the net.  There would be two more Carmeuse goals, at 9:28, #16 Tanner Moon, assisted by #20 Devin Freeman and at 4:44 Chevrier, assisted by #9 Ryan Cooper, would complete the team’s offensive statement for the night.  St Mary’s would answer only once in the period at 2:17.

Yes, perhaps Carmeuse Lime Limited experienced an uncharacteristically slow and sluggish start last night at the Ingersoll District Memorial Centre, but they were able to play through and overcome it.   The team remained focused on the game and served only four penalties through the entire game, two big factors as to why the team forged the 7-3 win.
